People of Tanimbar and Their Mesmerising Feast

There are several things about the Tanimbar that I feel I have a close relationship with. It's undescribable, because I don't know how does it exactly look like and I can't explain why. It feels like an attachment of a ship that connects the man among continents, but more intense and personal, yet lively and boisterous like old parties in the life of the Tanimbar people.

They create such a magical and extravagant form of glamor in the eastern Archipelago isles, making it unbelievable how people in past time could create such dignity and sophistication in the most familiar shades, and a timeless elegance. This is what we could imagine as a massive performances that are round, upright, twisting, and overlapping; like a mind and brain fulfilled by foreign names, yet close in your heart.

This following pictures are a visualisation you need to see about Tanimbar.

Tanimbar Women in Ceremonial Dresses
There are two type of clothing among the women in Tanimbar; the one that covers the chest and the one that doesn't. It might be ensured that somehow, the less weaving they use to cover the body, the more these women are considered as noble--placing them on a higher level in society.

The weaving that cover the chest and breast, basically, are mostly be wore on a daily life--and when it comes to feast, party, and ceremony, Tanimbar women usually wear jewelry more than the weaving. This pattern apparently be done to exhibit the richness of each clan among the tanimbar people and to strengthen their legitimacy over the lower clan in their social structure.

A Supreme Party
Villages in the Tanimbar Archipelago also are oftenly engage in long-lasting disputes, something that is quite common elsewhere in the archipelago. They also form alliances with each other. Such guilds had to be renewed from time to time, for that one village looked for another village every few years. Years later, another visit was made. On those occasions gifts were exchanged and there was long and profuse dancing. On this occasion, the rich show how rich they are by wearing all their jewelry. Also pay attention to the men's hats (made of two-tone cotton). (P. Orchard, 2001). Dancers with Orchestra, Tanimbar Islands.
